



Alexis Traynor-Kaplan, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer
Prior to founding Inologic, Dr. Traynor-Kaplan was an Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) where she identified the physiological roles of several inositol polyphosphates. Prior to her work at UCSD, Dr. Traynor-Kaplan was a Research Associate at the Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation where she was the first to identify an unknown phosphoinositide, PIP3, which is now recognized as a major intracellular signal that regulates a wide range of cellular activity. She began studying the role of membrane fluidity in signal transduction while performing her post doctoral studies in the Department of Neurobiology at The Salk Institute for Biological Studies. Dr. Traynor-Kaplan received her Ph.D. in Neurosciences from the University of California, San Diego and a B.S. in Cellular Biology from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Her career-long research has resulted in 100+ publications and three issued patents.
